We believe that in order for any culture to survive and thrive, we need to protect and empower the local communities.

Established in 1994

The Lo Gyalpo Jigme Foundation (LGJF) was conceived in 1994 and officially registered in 2002. We are committed to the preservation and promotion of the tradition, medieval architecture, and heritage of the Loba people. The Loba people are ethnically Tibetan inhabitants of Upper Mustang, Nepal. We preserve and promote Loba culture by supporting education, healthcare, infrastructure, nature conservation, and restoration of art and heritage.

Education

Education is a
foundation for a prosperous and just society. We ensure access to education for the Loba people by supporting monastic as well as secular education.

Health & Outreach

Inadequate healthcare in the remote villages of Mustang is a major problem, with patients dying of simple curable diseases. We support six health posts by providing medicines and capable health workers.

Heritage Restoration & Revitalization

Mustang is home to unique tangible and intangible heritage that dates back to the 15th century and beyond. We help restore murals, monuments, and promote local festivals and religious activities.

Other Support

Our partner on the ground are the youth clubs in different villages who come up with various infrastructure projects required by the villages. So far, we have built bridges, irrigation canals, water reservoirs, community halls, street lights, and many more.
